Dean Men's Shoes (Derby) Black

The Dean model - Men's Derby shoes - is certainly one of the most versatile styles. Unlike Oxford shoes, the Derby is made up of inner and outer quarters that meet at the tongue and vamp. This open lacing system is particularly suitable for users with a high instep. The Derby takes its name from Edward Smith-Stanley, 14th Earl of Derby and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in the 19th century, who found the lacing of the Oxford (or rather the Oxford) uncomfortable. His bootmaker made him a pair of shoes with open laces, and thus the Derby was created!
